Non-surgical Facial Aesthetics
As healthcare professionals, here at Macfarlanes our dentists are qualified to administer anti-aging injections such as Botox® and dermal fillers, and have extensive medical knowledge of facial anatomy. This puts them in an excellent position to administer the best facial aesthetics treatment for you.
Botox reversibly relaxes muscle tissue which can be successfully used to combat ageing associated with gravity and sun exposure. It is usually applied to the areas around the face where dermal collagen has been weakened, such as the upper lip, forehead creases, neck lines and crows feet.
Dermal fillers are used to treat a range of skin concerns, including lack of volume and shallow to deep wrinkles and folds. Popular areas to add volume and fullness to include the lips and cheeks. For smoothing, adding volume, plumping lines and wrinkles, popular treatment areas include around the forehead, mouth (smile, marionette and lipstick lines), jawline and chin.
Profhilo® is a type of injectable rejuvenation treatment, and unlike dermal fillers it is not designed to add volume to the skin, or restrict movement in the facial muscles. Instead, this anti-ageing hydration treatment contains high levels of hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring compound which helps improve tone, texture and elasticity.
Who is Profhilo for?
As we age, the presence of hyaluronic acid in the skin naturally starts to drop, which causes the skin to lose its natural firmness and elasticity. Most people begin to see the effects of hyaluronic acid depletion as they reach their 30s – and Profhilo® is the perfect treatment for anyone looking to counteract this.
Where can Profhilo be used?
Profhilo® is usually administered into the skin in five key areas (when administered to the face): the tops of cheeks, side of the face, lines around the mouth, nasolabial folds and laughter lines. It can also be used to improve the appearance of the skin around the neck, chest and décolletage.
