Rebecca Kay

Rebecca qualified from Sheffield University in 2007 and completed the Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties postgraduate diploma. She attained a certificate for Facilitating Learning in Healthcare Practice which enabled her to be an Educational Supervisor to newly qualified Dentists, a role she thoroughly enjoyed over the years. Rebecca worked with Julie in this capacity whilst Julie was an Associate Dean for Health Education England and it is through this contact that she joined the practice as an Associate in 2018. Rebecca is also qualified to provide non-surgical facial aesthetics.

Rebecca says;

“I am delighted to be part of the lovely team in Whalley where I enjoy providing high quality dental care in a forward thinking, highly professional but family orientated dental practice.

Visiting your dentist is a very personal and invasive experience. I strongly believe that it is important to build a good and ongoing relationship with my patients and I aim to put all my patients at ease. I enjoy all aspects of Dentistry and have a special interest in cosmetic treatments to give my patients a more confident smile.

I have a strong attachment with Whalley, as I got married here in 2011, and I now thoroughly enjoy meeting, and caring, for the people in and around the village. There is a real positive community spirit which I embrace.

Outside of dentistry, my husband and I enjoy being super busy parents to two wonderful young children who keep us on our toes. In my spare time I play in a netball team which is a huge passion of mine. When time allows I enjoy helping fundraise for my children’s school.”

Mohammad Saad Ali

I qualified from the University of Manchester gaining a dental degree in 2008. With a passion for further learning and training, I successfully completed the advanced certificate in facilitating learning in healthcare practice from the University of Central Lancashire in 2010. I then sat further exams, which gained me membership to the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) with The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2012.

I developed a strong interest in orthodontics and very much enjoy carrying out this treatment for patients of all ages. This naturally led me to start orthodontic training in 2016 and passing the Membership in Orthodontics exam (MOrth) three years later with The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. I carried on learning and undertook further training to provide aesthetic orthodontic treatment with clear aligners, composite bonding and advanced tooth whitening.

I enjoy patient interactions and building a rapport with them along their treatment journey. The patient’s smile and their added confidence at the end of treatment, is what drives me to provide the best possible care every time.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, weightlifting, cooking, astronomy and looking after my pet chickens. I also enjoy helping the local community with projects as well as volunteering my dental skills for charity work.

Sophie Delaney

I am a, dedicated dentist, who really enjoys getting to know my patients. Every appointment with each person is an opportunity to learn and grow professionally. Each individual is treated with the highest quality of care and compassion.

I first began my career as a dentist in 2009 by working as a dental nurse. Since then I have obtained two degrees, one in Dental Hygiene and Therapy and one in Dental Surgery. After qualifying at UCLAN, I worked in the NHS for 4 years before making the move to fully private practice.

I am a very keen learner and have completed several courses since qualification. These courses include extra teaching in tooth whitening, composite bonding and short term orthodontics. I have completed a year-long course to obtain a post graduate qualification in advanced restorative dentistry. This is an enhanced training program which refines the skills we already have as a dentist and allows us to take on more challenging cases.

I am currently enrolled at the Implant Centre of Excellence in Manchester where I am studying a postgraduate certificate in clinical dental implantology which will allow me to undertake placement and restoration of dental implants.

Outside of work I love to exercise, so you will usually find me in the gym or walking my pooch, Cooper.

Richard Wilson

I qualified as a Dentist from the University of Manchester and, following a year working in a dental practice in South Manchester, began my time at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
I have been working at Royal Blackburn and Burnley General Hospitals in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery on a full time basis since 2016. Within my role I carry out a wide range of surgical procedures under local and general anaesthetic- from routine dental extractions, to the repair of facial trauma such as broken jaws and cheek bones.

I have been placing dental implants in the hospital setting for a number of years, often for patients who require complex bone grafting and extensive rehabilitation.

I am delighted to be working at The Macfarlane Dental Partnership and offering my services in Oral Surgery, dental implant placement and restoration. Having grown up and lived in the area my whole life it’s a real privilege to serve the area in both the hospital and dental practice setting.

Helping to implement home care to maintain their oral health. I am also able to provide simple restorative treatment, especially in children providing fillings and preventative care.

I was a dental nurse tutor/assessor for 3 years which I enjoyed.

Outside of dentistry I have a busy life with my husband and our two sons. I enjoy spending time with my family, and friends
