Disability Policy
Macfarlane Dental Partnership wishes to make every effort to continue to see patients who have a disability or limited mobility.
The Macfarlane Dental Practice has limited facilities to see disabled patients in a downstairs surgery.
Problems arise if the patient’s wheel chair cannot access the practice or be manoeuvred safely around the surgery and if the patient cannot get into the dental chair from their wheel chair.
At this point it is in the patient’s best interest to be referred to the Community Dental Service which has appropriate equipment to move patients safely into the dental chair and has surgeries big enough to accommodate wheel chairs.
The Community Dental Service also has parking facilities, ramps and hoists to help patients attend for dental treatment easily and safely.
