CORONA VIRUS UPDATE 26th March, 2020

Following the announcements made by our Prime Minister we are all faced with the reality of taking responsibility, both in regards to our own health and also towards those around us, by staying at home as far as possible.

We would like to reassure all our patients that we at the Macfarlane Dental Practice are taking all the necessary steps to protect your safety, your family’s safety and the safety of our practice team whilst still offering a service to you to alleviate any dental emergency that may arise during the difficult days ahead.
In line with the Government guidance to protect our community and reduce the risk of spreading this infection it is now necessary to cancel all routine appointments at least until the end of April. If you have such an appointment booked with us you can expect a message from us to postpone your appointment to a later date.

Please be assured that this does not mean that you will miss out on the dental care that you need. Julie and Fiona, with the help of all the team, will be working extra hard to catch up with any appointments that have had to be cancelled once we are allowed to do so.

Arrangements have been made to provide a service for those of you who have the misfortune to suffer a dental emergency. In that event please phone the practice in the usual way and further information will be given to you on how to obtain this emergency service.

A dentist will be available each working day morning from 10am-12 noon to provide advice. Outside these hours you should contact the emergency dental service on 0300 1234010. This service is open between 8am to 9pm weekdays and 10am to 5pm at weekends and bank holidays. You must explain the severity of your pain.

Thank you all for your support and understanding as we make these necessary changes. We are all having to dig deep and cope with the challenges we now face in our daily lives. We hope that you are reassured that, as far as your oral health is concerned, what needs to be done will be done in a safe and caring manner.

As soon as we are informed that we can return to a more routine appointment system we will update our website and social media platforms.
